There has been lots of discussion about building a conversation and audience via social media. However, how do you monetize an online community through social media? Learn the fundamental building blocks of how to build community, why people pay for things, and explore business models such as advertising, virtual goods and microtransactions, digital merchandising, and branded content that best suit these different fundamental needs. Discover concrete tools to help define and establish revenue models that match your business goals and maximize success.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- Differentiate between advertising and transactional online monetization models
- Understand which models best suit the behaviours of specific customers and business metrics
- Describe monetization best practices and their broader applications
- Understand "Return on Involvement" (ROI) considerations
12-1PM Networking lunch : Opportunity to meet and mingle the Presenters and fellow participants
1-4pm - WORKSHOP 2: INCREASE YOUR ROI USING GAMIFICATION WORKSHOP
Conducted by Scott Dodson, CEO Bobber Interactive
Gamification can be an effective tool for generating virality, and driving and sustaining engagement. But is there proven ROI, and if so how can we measure and sustain it?
This engaging workshop helps you understand the best practices of gamification, and how to incorporate the ecosystem of the game layer and the business together. The ROI of gamification is calculated by the change it generates in the key strategic metrics of the company or organization.
Under Scott’s tutelage, we examine what metrics are most important and which tool (or tools in combination) is most effective at moving the needle on those metrics. This half of the workshop will focus on answering these questions through an overview of the principals of gamificaton and a deep dive on a selection of case studies. Participants are encouraged to bring their specific projects, areas of interest and problems to the table for real time problem solving and gamification design.
KEY TAKE AWAYS:
· Participants will:
- Gain an actionable definition for gamification
- Understand the distinction between Intrinsic and Extrinsic rewards and their role in the lifecycle and motivation of a user
- Learn to draw connections between business problems and engagement strategies.
- Develop a familiarity with a basic tool set of game mechanics, how they may be applied to the needs of an organization, and which are most effective against specific metrics
- Walk away with options for implementation
4-5pm - Q&A: INCORPORATING THE 2 INTO ONE
To round up the day, participants will be treated to an up close and personal Q&A Session with both Rochelle and Scott on how to incorporate both Social media and Gamification strategies in their business plans to help forward their ROI.
